A cable car line over the River Thames, London, will be presenting a panorama of the city for the 2012 Olympics. Cable car was ready on time.
Initially, this cable car is feared will not be ready to operate for the Olympics which start on July 27, 2012. But ultimately, this tourist route approval from Transport Minister Justine Greening.
This means, the audience will be able to use the cable car to travel d iantara two Olympic arena, the arena 02 on the south bank of the River Thames and the ExCel Exhibition Centre in East London. Cable car is sponsored by Emirates airline and is the first cable car in the UK.
There will be a gondola that carries 34 passengers per trip in 2500 between the Royal Docks and Greenwich Peninsula, just five minutes. Not yet known how many tourists the price paid for the gondola ride, but according to the London Transport Board, tourists can pay with Oyster cards. This is a card that can be used to pay for bus tickets and subway.
"Gliding quietly with gondola over the River Thames would be a wonderful experience for tourists," said Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, as quoted from Dailymail, Wednesday (20/06/2012). With this, London joined Barcelona, Cologne, Hong Kong, Lisbon, New York, and Singapore, which has a cable car transportation.
